4-17-20 : Remember, our fate is not entirely in our own hands - Day 25
My wife is doing about as well as expected, given the current issues. She hasn’t been sleeping well and actually has a virtual appointment with a Doc today to see if they can do anything or give her something to sleep. Hopefully this turns a corner, to ease at least one of her many stressors.
Me? Stressed, a little depressed, and not sleeping well either. It has become hard to unwind at times, seeing how keyed up my wife is at all times now. Which makes it hard for me to vent, in fear of just piling my issues on top of hers. I feel like I have to be strong for her and the boy, while running interference with my mother-in-law, and this takes its toll.
The boy is doing better with the virtual schooling. Wife sent a message to his English teacher about the course load, the teacher was expecting them to do an additional 1-2 hours a night after class, so the teacher sent a survey to the kids asking about the amount. Here’s hoping we actually hear anything about that. He’s been doing better recently after we told him that he should be FaceTiming with his friends more... that has seemed to bring his spirits up.
Luckily my week off from work is next week. Hopefully, I won’t get called in over something small - the last week that was mine to be off they called, twice.

4-16-20 : Fortune cookie, without a fortune - Day 24
Home today, during what is my current scheduled work week. Regrettably, chronic health conditions don’t give a shit about a pandemic. MS doesn’t give you a day off - you hope it’s just the nagging voice in your limbs or the back of your skull, but heaven help you if you allow stress, lack of sleep, illness, or depression to affect your life. It seems like the chicken or the egg, which issue is causing which, but I happen to think it’s more like the hypnotic spiral illusion - without getting sucked into the madness, try and find the beginning.
The health of the family is always at the forefront of our minds, as it is (hopefully) for everyone else. Both the wife and I are "essential" employees and this forces us to think about whom we come in contact with and where we have traveled; work, gas station, grocery store, etc. Thankfully, the wife and I have been fortunate that our companies have, at least, made attempts to make it easier and safer for those of us still required to work.
COVID-19 quarantine has made the world an interesting place. Not that it wasn’t previously, but personal values and their hypocrisy have been brought to the forefront. Who would have thought that companies and CEO’s would have been so obvious about their disdain to workers?

4-8-20 : Quarantine Melancholy - Day 16
It would take a pandemic for me to actually sit down and write again. There's been a few changes in *cough* seven years. The first one that needs to be pointed out are the fuzzy family members...
We've lost some good friends -
Chef
Mango
Lewis
Moses
It hasn't all been sad, we still have Frieda. Just a little older.
And we've added two friends -
Daisy
Eevee!

1-25-13 : Another day home
Pain and numbness in left leg kept me home today. Which was only made worse when I stepped out of bed, not able to feel my foot, and twisted my knee. Blarg.
On a fun note... Here's a cat interested in a toilet.

Spending the evening with Sean and Mallory, and Jer and Sam at Dave & Busters.
Note: This was not a competition to say 'and' as many times as possible in one sentence.
